Tolga Kashif is one of the most diversely talented musicians of his generation, with successes ranging from the musical direction of the BBC Children in Need’s Platinum-selling single, ‘Perfect Day’ to composing the critically acclaimed symphony based on the legendary band Queen for EMI Classics. Tolga is not only a thriving composer, but also conducts, arranges and produces many varied and exciting projects as well as heading the forward thinking music company Lightsong Music

Tolga started Lightsong Media, a forward thinking, artist centric company with an emphasis on breaking new music and technology
Tolga was also arranger and producer on the Tyler Rix album ‘Ascent’. Tyler was the 2008 winner of the BBC’s Classical Star and it reached No 1 in the UK Classical Charts -
2007/08
Seo Taiji Symphony – This collaboration between Tolga and Korean rock legend Seo Taiji was premièred at the Seoul Olympic Stadium in front of 34,000 people. The concert offered Seo’s well-known songs blended with orchestral arrangements and was performed by the Royal Philharmonic

The Queen Symphony – Nominated for a Classical Brit Award and inspired by the music of Queen, this lushly orchestrated album in 6 movements draws on themes from famous tracks including ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, ‘Who wants to Live Forever’ and ‘We Will Rock You’. The opening concert performed by the Royal Philharmonic was attended by Jer Bulsara, Mercury’s mother, drummer Roger Taylor and guitarist Brian May. They “very much enjoyed it” and found it was “very moving indeed”

Tolga was Musical Director for BBC Children In Need Single ‘A Perfect Day’, featuring the likes of Bono, Elton John, David Bowie and Courtney Pine
This platinum selling single shot straight to number 1 and raised a massive £2,125,000 for charity. Tolga worked with music superstars including Bono, Bowie and Tom Jones in his capacity as Musical Director. Lou Reed, who wrote the original, said ‘I have never been more impressed with a performance of one of my songs’
